King Salmon or Chinook that was originally from Atlantic Ocean has been stocked in Lake Michigan for over 30 years now.
Chinook also known as Coho from Pacific Ocean originally has been stocked in Lake Michigan for over 40 years also.
Pink Salmon have never been planted in Lake Michigan. They was planted in Lake Superior in the 1950’s & have migrated down into Lake Michigan over years.
Atlantic salmon was planted in Lake Michigan until 1990’s
With connections to all 3 great lakes these fish migrate from one lake to another.
If you’re an angler on the great lakes this is your time of year.
