All around the campfire
There is all sorts of old and new camp cooking recipes,
from the ones your grandparents showed you , some you learned
from your parents or just experimented on your own with marshmallow
and a stick. There is so may and so many versions of camp cooking recipes that one hardly knows where to start.
First of all you need a good fire pit to start your cooking , with all the campground regulations now days most campgrounds have pre made pits already at the campsites. not only a good looking fire ring but safe to use too. now your going to need some good cookware for that fire.
A camping recipe –
This recipe produces a wonderful great grilled meat flavor, so you will want to take more meat than you usually plan on. The skewers are sharp and difficult to pack out, so burn them in the fire or charcoal grill after you are done cooking. This recipe works well with stew meat, other inexpensive beef, or wild game meat.

1 teaspoon Jamaican Jerk Seasoning Paste
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup Italian dressing
1 1/2 pounds stew meat
Cut your meat into nice sized chunks and then marinate for at least one hour in mixture of the yogurt and salad dressing. Add the Jerk Seasoning, That’s if you like it spicy.
slide the meat onto bamboo skewers that have been previously soaked in water. Place your meat skewers on a charcoal fire or campfire. Turn to ensure that all sides have been exposed to the heat. Grill them to your taste, and eat while hot.
Editor’s note: some people like to alternate chunks of onion, bell pepper and tomato between the meat chunks.
